--Whew!-- A lot of work went into this one. But I'm really glad I managed to get it done. It's a piece I've had in my head forever, but never had the nerve to do. This is the scene in which maX proves himself as the Gladiator Messiah. maX goes to deliver a town from the terror of a wyrm inhabiting their lake and gets more than he bargained for when he encounters the legendary Leviathan. If you know your scripture, you'll know the signifigance of him defeating it and why it shows him as perhaps the greatest warrior (at least in this story :P )

As you can see, I played a lot in this. The background is all painted using Art Rage, giving it an impressionistic feeling. I tried some new things with perspective, blurring out the background to bring the foreground into focus and such. The forced perspective in the posing and such was pretty nre ground for me, but I think it was necissary for this image. I did some more with multiple coloured light a sources, as well as excluded any line work, but those really are nothing new for me. I think my painting came a long way while working on that mouth... the weapons are all actually composited from 3D models, painted over. The top of the hair is actually painted directly off of my hair as a reference. It comes in handy to cut your hair like your characters. :P Other than that, I don't know what to say. There's probably more to it, but I can't think of what. >.<;; So if you see anything that interests you, go ahead and ask.

Thanks, I made it using a rotten piece of celery, and sixteen ounces of variously coloured jamba juices. <_< >_>

Seriously though, I worked so hard on this one... I'm glad my practice showed... I think I can still do better though. The background ish... kinda l4m3

Jamba juices? They sound delicious.

The background didn't subtract from the overall l33t-ness of the picture, don't worry.
